Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me...

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest yesterday (and still managed to get in free although it sold out all night) and I just have to say, even if you're not a scary Johnny Depp obsessive like myself, everyone will love this movie. Although not quite on par with the first, the action is amped up, the stakes are a great deal higher and the story has a much more sinister undertone. Look forward to the fantastic Johnny/Orlando Bloom/Jack Davenport sword fight. I won't reveal the ending, but I just have to say, I was blown away. I'm no movie critic, but if you saw the first one, POTC:2 is worth checking out.
Rating:

5 Davy Jones tentacles out of 5

Feel free to post opinions about the flick.

By the Desperate 'n Confused Emotion of the Youth...

I vaguely remember someone asking for some Gogol and if not, I've finally cracked and you get some anyway. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical of Gogol Bordello at first, but he grew on me and now this is one of my most played albums. I personally love when different genres fuse together and this mixes traces of latin, punk and reggae, with Eugene Hutz's fantastic voice and a lot of accordion. You won't find gypsy punk anywhere else. Highlights include 60 Revolutions, Start Wearing Purple and Mishto!

Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike
Track List:
1. Sally
2. I Would Never Wanna Be Young Again
3. Not a Crime
4. Immigrant Punk
5. 60 Revolutions

7. Dogs Were Barking
8. Oh No
9. Start Wearing Purple
10. Think Locally, Fuck Globally
11. Underdog World Strike

13. Santa Marinella

I came as advice, I came to shore

Once upon a Thursday, a girl was doing her bi-weekly hunt through the local music store, searching for all that's new and not crappy, a difficult task this was. Upon reaching the M section, the girl came across a discovery, there was a copy of The Moon and Antarctica for a very, very low price indeed. Having only a burned copy of this album before, this made the girl very happy. She then immediately purchased the album for the very, very low price indeed and all was well in the kingdom.

You're in self-destruct mode, I'm self destructing

Yay, I knew you were out there. Request the first, from Dominic. Wonderful band, wonderful album, I loves me my Montreal bands. And yes I believe it is still available to be purchased, I got mine from MapleMusic. I cannot sing enough praise for this album, particularly the 10-minute long There Is No Such Thing As Love. Mark my words, if justice exists, The Dears are headed for much success and glory.

The Dears - End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story
Track List:
1. C'etait Pour La Passion
2. Jazz Waltz No. 3 In B-Flat

7. There Is No Such Thing As Love
8. Partir, Par Terre

I know that's awful cynical to say

P.S. Metric are at this year's MuchMusic video awards. They make good an otherwise unwatchable program. I may tune in this year.

If I suddenly went blind, would you still look in my eyes?

Dallas Green is the guitarist for Canadian screamsters, Alexisonfire. Deciding to depart as far away as he could from the angry yelling and maniacal jumping, City and Colour he became. Hyper-colour tells me where my baby is hot

I received a request for a Har Mar Superstar album, likely due to him being in the Road Trip mix and since I always try to meet my requests, particularly for those that I love myself, here you go. I absolutely adore this album, it's my favourite to blare in my car. No, I have not as of yet seen him live, but it is a goal of mine, as he's supposed to be phenomenal. His antics alone would be worth the ticket.
